Uploading Instructions
Here's the best way to get your commercial file(s) to the Kalamazoo Gazette.

Step 1. A logon and password will be needed in order to send files. To obtain them, please click on "Contact Us," above, and arrange for an account.

Step 2. If you need help with preparing electronic files, please download our Acrobat PDF file, Digital Requirements

Prior to uploading files for the first time, please review our instructional uploading document, which can be downloaded by clicking here: Commercial_FTP_Guide.

If you need Acrobat Reader to read that file, you can easily download and install it by clicking here:  Download Acrobat Reader.

Step 3. To send in files you can use any recent version of web browser, including Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, or Safari.

Step 4. If your files are in PDF format, you can start uploading (sending) your files (Step 5). Otherwise, you will need a compression utility that can create zip files for PC's, or StuffIt files for Mac's. To create zip files, PKzip and WinZip can be used, or any utility that can create zip archives. Stuffit Deluxe creates StuffIt files (and many other compression formats, including zip) on the Mac. StuffIt (without the "Deluxe" in the name) is the Windows version of StuffIt Deluxe. If you don't have a compression utility, click on one of the links below to download one.

Download StuffIt Deluxe (Mac) or StuffIt (Windows)

Download PKzip

Download WinZip

Now that you have a compression utility, create a directory on your computer hard drive. The directory should have a descriptive name such as your company name and today's date.

For example - my_company05aug99

Place all the files you are uploading into the directory you just created, then use your compression utility to compress the directory.

Note: Zip files should end in a .zip extension, and StuffIt files should end in a .sit extension.

Step 5.Now you are ready to upload your files. Click here to go to our Upload Form page.

Step 6.Once all your files have been uploaded, please call the Pre-Press Department at 269-388-8534 to verify that all of your files have been received.
